Becoming a successful Writer
Do you want to succeed as a writer and get your books published all the time? Have you been trying to write a book but you find it difficult to start? You don’t need to be afraid anymore, just sit back and reading this article thoroughly.
Here are some of the things you need to do to become a successful writer;
1. Write for fun
I want to let you know that if you want to succeed as a writer, you must do it for fun. Whatever you do in life without having fun in doing it, can never take you anywhere. So also applies to writing. The basic truth is that if you aren’t having fun in writing, what makes you think your readers will?
2. Read different type of books
Read different type of books ranging from poetry, biographies, published articles, fiction etc. Write down all interesting words which you think will look impressive in your writing and find out their meaning. Doing this will give you inspiration and also see the work of published authors and how they write.
3. Study about punctuation, grammar and spelling
Using the wrong punctuation, grammar and spelling can prevent people from reading your books. Make a list of words and their meaning on a notebook using the dictionary. Study about punctuation marks and know how and when to use them. Try spelling different words and check if you got it right using the dictionary. If you want to become a successful writer, you must know when to use “why” and “while”.
4. Get inspiration and be creative
If you want to succeed as a writer, you must find inspiration so as to produce inspired writing. Inspiration is not just a desirable thing; it’s a very important part of the writing process. You have to be creative in your writing to make it interesting, have a deep thought about any message you are trying to get across to your readers.
5. Always write a rough draft
When you write something, do not stop to reread through it until the next step. Make sure you write everything down before you reread it. Note that the hardest part of writing is not giving up on a story. This will not take a day or a week. Writing your entire story down may take months. You can decide to write on a notebook with a pen or typed using your computer. Depending on what you want to use.
6. Be descriptive in your writing
You must describe every chapter of your book as if it is happening in a real life. This will make your readers feel they are in the scene when reading your book and make you stand out from other writers.
7. Choose good characters
Good characters are the ones that make a book. You could base one on someone you are familiar with, or make a mix up of a few friends to make a completely unique person. Most importantly, make them likable. Nobody would like to read about a character that annoys them.
These are some of the things you need to do to become a successful writer. Good luck to you as you put them to practice.
